Tignes, France – Together with ESPN and Canal+ Events, Tignes Resort welcomed the first Winter X Games Europe today at a press conference in front of 125 media and the following eight elite athletes who will compete in the inaugural event: Torah Bright (Australia), Kevin Rolland (France), Jenny Jones (UK), Xavier Bertoni (France), JJ Thomas (USA), Mathieu Crepel (France), Louie Vito (USA). Winter X Games Europe, to be held March 10-12 in Tignes, France, will welcome 150 world-class athletes, including 30 past and present Olympians. In the first Winter X Games held outside the United States, athletes will vie for gold in eight events, including Men’s and Women’s Snowboard SuperPipe and Men’s and Women’s Snowboard Slopestyle.

xgameseuropeESPN, CANAL + Events and Tignes Ski & Snowboard Resort will launch the first Winter X Games Europe March 10-12, 2010. The event will be the first Winter X Games held outside the United States. The event will bring together ESPN’s world class X Games franchise with France’s leading pay TV broadcaster and the local expertise of Tignes. On the heels of Winter X Games 14 and the upcoming Winter Olympics in Vancouver, more than 150 athletes are invited to France to compete in the inaugural event. There will be eight different competitions over three days, including Ski and Snowboard SuperPipe and Slopestyle for men and women as well as a Snowmobile demonstration.  Read more…
