TSN Unveils Top 10 Sports Stories of 2009

Toronto, ON (December 14, 2009) – TSN today revealed its annual list of the Top 10 Sports Stories of 2009.  Featuring all the big performances, big upsets and big personalities from the past year, the list was chosen by a panel of TSN commentators, reporters and producers.  TSN will count down to #1 and officially announce its pick for Top Sports Story of 2009 during the annual year-end special, SPORTSCENTRE: YEAR IN REVIEW on Christmas Eve, Thursday, Dec. 24, at 7 p.m. ET.  Fans can also have their say and vote for their choice for Top Sports Story of 2009 on TSN.ca

– Thirty-minute special sets the table for 2010 IIHF WORLD JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP, live on TSN and TSN2, beginning December 26 – 

Toronto, ON (December 4, 2009) – ‘Tis the season for holiday traditions as TSN tees up one of its favourites – the IIHF WORLD JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP – with COUNTDOWN TO WORLD JUNIOR HOCKEY CHAMPIONSHIP, on Tuesday, Dec. 8 at 7:30 p.m. ET on TSN.  The 30-minute special, airing exactly 19 days before the puck drops on Team Canada’s quest for a 6th consecutive gold medal, features an in-depth look at the upcoming Team Canada selection camp and analysis of the players hoping to make this year’s team.

James Duthie hosts COUNTDOWN TO WORLD JUNIOR HOCKEY CHAMPIONSHIP from the NHL ON TSN studio, alongside Hockey Insider Bob McKenzie and analyst Pierre McGuire.  Joining the panel in studio is Barrie Colts forward Stefan Della Rovere, who won gold with Team Canada at last year’s tournament in Ottawa.  

COUNTDOWN TO WORLD JUNIOR HOCKEY CHAMPIONSHIP also includes an interview with Regina Pats forward Jordan Eberle, who scored the tying goal for Team Canada in last year’s semifinal game against Russia, and a profile on Montreal Juniors goalie Jake Allen – a leading candidate for this year’s starting goaltender position on Team Canada.  Duthie will also take a look back at the Top 10 plays from last year’s tournament.
