Acclaimed ESPN 30 FOR 30 Documentaries to air on TSN Beginning Nov. 13
– Kings Ransom, a documentary on the Gretzky trade
to air Nov. 18 before Oilers vs. Avalanche game on TSN –
Toronto, ON (November 5, 2009) – TSN will be the exclusive Canadian home to ESPN’s critically acclaimed 30 FOR 30 film project – featuring some of Hollywood’s finest filmmakers creating documentaries centered on the last 30 years in sports. The films debut on TSN on Friday, Nov. 13 at 8:30 p.m. ET with Academy-award winning filmmaker Barry Levinson’s The Band that Wouldn’t Die. The emotional documentary explores the impact the relocation of the Baltimore Colts had on the team’s devoted fans.
Highlighting the 30 FOR 30 documentaries on TSN is filmmaker Peter Berg’s KINGS RANSOM. The one-hour documentary explores the effects of the shocking trade of Wayne Gretzky from Edmonton to Los Angeles in 1988. KINGS RANSOM will make its Canadian broadcast premiere on Wednesday, Nov. 18 at 7:30 p.m. ET – just before TSN’s broadcast of the Oilers-Avalanche game at 8:30 p.m. ET.
