Toronto, ON (April 1, 2010) – It’s the Masters, it’s Tiger’s return to golf and it will be one of the biggest spectacles of the year. TSN is set to cover one of the most anticipated MASTERS across all of its platforms. TSN, TSN.ca and TSN Mobile will allow Canadians to experience THE MASTERS no matter where they are. In addition to live broadcast coverage of the first two rounds and coverage of Woods’ highly-anticipated return, TSN will give fans in Canada exclusive live online streaming that goes beyond the broadcast coverage from Augusta National Golf Club.

Live coverage of THE MASTERS on TSN, TSN.ca and TSN Mobile begins on Thursday, April 8 (see complete broadcast schedule below) with last year’s champion Angel Cabrera looking to take on a star-studded field featuring the best golfers in the world including Phil Mickelson, Ernie Els, Steve Stricker, and Canadian Mike Weir.

TSN has also confirmed it will have live coverage of Woods’ press conference on Monday, April 5 and will go live to Augusta National Golf Club when he takes his tee shot from the first hole on Thursday during the opening round.

Broadcast Coverage

THE MASTERS is in full-swing on TSN with live coverage of the first and second rounds on TSN and evening encores of the third round on TSN2 and final round on TSN.

TSN’s coverage includes live one-hour preview shows airing daily prior to the start of each round with TSN’s Cory Woron, Jim Nelford and resident golf expert Bob Weeks providing in-depth reports and analysis from Augusta and a recap of all the action from earlier in the day. TSN’s MASTERS coverage will include a special look at the British golfers looking to put their mark on THE MASTERS and how Mike Weir prepares for Augusta’s challenging par 3 holes.

TSN has live coverage of THE MASTERS Par 3 Contest on Wednesday, April 7 beginning at 3 p.m. ET.

NHL and NBA Playoff Races Heat Up on TSN2 in April

Toronto, ON (March 31, 2010) – Exclusive live NHL and NBA playoff action hits TSN2 later this month, but the playoff races are still heating up with more live games to kick-off the April schedule on TSN2. A marquee NHL match-up sees Alex the Great take on Sid the Kid on April 6, while the playoff hungry Raptors take on the Boston Celtics in NBA action on April 7.

This month, TSN2 also features live coverage from the MLB, the NFL Draft, NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and NASCAR Nationwide Series, ATP World Tour, NLL, Australian Football League, and live boxing. In addition, TSN2’s schedule includes coverage from the IndyCar Series and The Masters.

Toronto, ON (March 25, 2010) – The new-look Toronto Blue Jays hit TSN and TSN2 in 2010 with 25 regular season games. Toronto, ON (March 22, 2010) – Beginning later this month, TSN2 heads down under for live coverage of the Australian Football League’s 2010 Premiership Season. The AFL features 16 teams from across Australia vying for the coveted premiership title. The 22-round regular season runs from March until August with the top eight teams qualifying for the four-week Finals Series in September culminating with the championship game, the AFL Grand Final. TSN2’s live coverage begins Friday, March 26 at 4:30 a.m. with a Round 1 match-up featuring the defending champion Geelong Cats taking on Essendon.

TSN2 will air one live game every week throughout the 2010 AFL season including playoffs and the AFL Grand Final (see attached broadcast schedule). TSN2 currently has 21 regular season games scheduled with more to be added in the final weeks of the regular season and playoffs.

Toronto, ON (March 17, 2010) – Three-time defending Canadian champion Jennifer Jones and her team from the St. Vital Curling Club in Winnipeg look to use home ice to their advantage and regain the title at the 2010 FORD WORLD WOMEN’S CULRING CHAMPIONSHIP in Swift Current, SK, live on TSN from March 20-28. TSN’s exclusive live coverage includes all of Team Canada’s games as well as Page Playoffs, the Semifinal and Final. Coverage begins Saturday, March 20 at 9 p.m. ET as Canada takes on Sweden.

Largest Audience Ever Watches Alberta’s Kevin Koe Win the 2010 TIM HORTONS BRIER on TSN

– A record 1.6 million viewers tune into TSN for Sunday’s Ontario/Alberta Final –

– Audience levels peaked at 2.5 million viewers in the final minutes of the 10^th end, leading up to the decisive extra end –

Toronto, ON (March 15, 2010) – While Kevin Koe’s Team Alberta swept away the competition last night, TSN swept up a new audience record as the Final of the 2010 TIM HORTONS BRIER became the most-watched broadcast in tournament history*. Preliminary overnight data from BBM Canada confirms an average audience of 1.6 million viewers watched Koe win his first BRIER championship against Glenn Howard’s previously undefeated Team Ontario in an exciting extra-end finish.

This marks the highest audience ever for a non-Olympic Games curling broadcast on Canadian television. Last year’s final attracted an average audience of 873,000 viewers.

Audience levels for the Final peaked at 2.5 million viewers at 10:11 p.m. ET, as Koe’s impressive hit-and-roll shot in the dramatic 10^th end forced Howard to draw for one point with the hammer, tying the game at five points apiece and forcing an extra end.

“Once again, fans were treated to Canadian championship curling at its finest. Overall audiences for 2010 TIM HORTONS BRIER on TSN averaged 631,000 viewers, a 42% increase compared to last year’s average. In total, TSN delivered 66 hours of BRIER coverage live from Halifax this year.

This was Koe’s first appearance at the TIM HORTONS BRIER, making him the first rookie skip to win the tournament since Vic Peters in 1980. Teams from Alberta have won seven of the last 10 BRIER titles.

TSN’s exclusive curling coverage continues in 2010 with the FORD WORLD WOMEN’S CURLING CHAMPIONSHIP from March 20-28 and the CAPITAL ONE WORLD MEN’S CURLING CHAMPIONSHIP on April 10 and 11.

Toronto, ON (March 14, 2010) – TSN confirmed today that Olympic Gold Medallist Kevin Martin will attend the fan-favourite TSN Curling Skins Game in January. Martin joins defending Skins champion David Murdoch of Scotland at the event which is confirmed to take place on the weekend of January 22 and 23, 2011 at Casino Rama, in Rama Ontario.

“Kevin Martin is one of the best curlers this country has ever produced and his team’s Gold Medal victory last month captivated a nation,” said Phil King, President, TSN. “We look forward to seeing Kevin and his team put on another curling display at Casino Rama with $100,000 at stake.”

The TSN Curling Skins Game is a made-for-TV original production that features the best curlers in the world competing for a share of the event’s total $100,000 (Cdn) cash purse. Operated by the TSN Events division, invitations to the TSN Curling Skins Game are only extended to the world’s elite curling teams. As defending Skins Champion, David Murdoch received an automatic invitation to the 2011 game. The current World Champion defeated Martin at the Skins Games earlier this year with a dramatic draw to the button on his final throw to take the victory and ultimately win more than $70,000.

Two additional teams will be named to the TSN Curling Skins Game upon the conclusion of the curling season.

This marks the fourth year in a row that Casino Rama will host the TSN Curling Skins Game. Toronto, ON (March 12, 2010) – TSN and TSN2 continue to put the pedal to the metal this weekend, as the networks kick off their complete coverage of the 2010 IZOD IndyCar Series with the first race of the season – the inaugural SAO PAULO INDY 300 – live on Sunday, March 14 at 11:30 a.m. ET on TSN2.

The 2010 IZOD IndyCar Series season gets into gear with a brand new race from the streets of Sao Paulo, Brazil featuring some of the biggest names in open-wheel racing. Defending IZOD IndyCar Series champion Dario Franchitti looks to pick up where he left off but will have some stiff competition from native Brazilians and fan-favourites Tony Kanaan and Helio Castroneves, plus Canadian driver Alex Tagliani from Lachenaie, QC.

In addition, the SAO PAULO INDY 300 marks the first time four women are entered in an IndyCar race, with Danica Patrick, Milka Duno and rookies Simona de Silvestro and Sao Paolo’s own Ana Beatriz Figueiredo expected to be on the grid on Sunday.

This season, TSN and TSN2 team up to deliver all 17 races of the IZOD IndyCar Series, including back-to-back weekends of racing action in Canada with the HONDA INDY TORONTO on July 18, followed by the EDMONTON INDY on July 25. TSN will also have live coverage of the 94^thrunning of the INDIANAPOLIS 500 on May 30.

Auto Racing 2010 – Formula 1

Toronto, ON (March 12, 2010) – Formula 1 will be burning up the track all season long on TSN with live coverage of all 19 races from the international auto racing series. Coverage gets underway with the first race of the season, the BAHRAIN GRAND PRIX, this weekend with live qualifying on Saturday, March 13 at 5:55 a.m. ET and the race on Sunday, March 14 live at 7:55 a.m. ET (see attached for complete broadcast schedule).

Encore presentations of Formula 1 races will be available throughout the season on TSN2. Fans can stay up-to-date on the latest news and storylines from the Formula 1 series with TSN’s Formula 1 page at TSN.ca.

The CANADIAN GRAND PRIX makes its return to the Formula 1 series in 2010 and TSN has live coverage beginning with qualifying on Saturday, June 12 and the race itself on Sunday, June 13. After being removed from the schedule in 2009, the race returns to Montreal’s famous circuit Gilles-Villeneuve for a 31^st year in 2010. TSN’s Formula 1 coverage in 2010 continues to utilize the live feed from BBC featuring the popular play-by-play duo of Jonathan Legard and Martin Brundle handling commentary and analysis duties, respectively.

The 2010 season promises to be even more exciting than the last as reigning world champion Jenson Button has joined McLaren and will race alongside his new teammate – and 2008 world champion – Lewis Hamilton. Meanwhile, Formula 1 superstar Michael Schumacher has come out of retirement to join Mercedes GP looking to add another title to his record seven world championships. A new points system that offers greater rewards for better finishes is sure to increase the competition between teams and teammates alike.
