It’s a Free Agent Free-For-All on July 1 with FREE AGENT FRENZY, Live on TSN2 and TSN.ca

Toronto, ON (June 28, 2010) – Canada Day means free agent fireworks on TSN2 as the network marks the start of the NHL’s free agency period with the fourth annual FREE AGENT FRENZY special. Coverage on TSN2 airs from 12 noon to 5 p.m. ET on July 1 and continues on TSN from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. ET. The entire FREE AGENT FRENZY special will also be available live at TSN.ca.

 

TSN will keep viewers up-to-date on the latest NHL free agency activity with regular SPORTSCENTRE updates throughout a busy day of broadcasting that includes live coverage of the women’s semifinals from WIMBLEDON from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET and the CFL ON TSN opening day doubleheader featuring Montreal @ Saskatchewan at 7 p.m. ET followed by Toronto @ Calgary at 10 p.m. ET.

 

Hosted by James Duthie, FREE AGENT FRENZY features TSN’s team of hockey experts as well as correspondents in each Canadian NHL city, providing news of the day’s activity as soon as the free agent market opens for business at 12 noon ET.

 

TSN Hockey Insiders Bob McKenzie and Darren Dreger are joined by Gord Miller at the ‘Free Agent Signing Desk’ to bring viewers the most up-to-date information on NHL deals. Duthie is joined by TSN hockey analysts Pierre McGuire, Keith Jones and Darren Pang on the ‘Instant Analysis Panel’ while ex-NHLers Matthew Barnaby and Mike Johnson weigh in with their views and Gino Reda delivers in-depth looks at all free agents in play. Duthie will also conduct live interviews with players and GMs from around the league, providing viewers with instant reaction from the deal-makers and players involved.

 

Dave Hodge is joined in-studio by a panel from his Sunday morning show, TSN THE REPORTERS WITH DAVE HODGE, featuring Steve Simmons, Michael Farber and Dave Naylor providing additional opinions and analysis on the day’s activities.

 

James Cybulski anchors TSN’s special one-hour edition of SPORTSCENTRE at 6 p.m. ET, re-capping all of the day’s events with extensive reports and reaction from around the NHL. During the July 1 edition of SPORTSCENTRE, TSN will announce the 20 communities in the Kraft Celebration Tour who will go head-to-head in an intense 10-days of online voting in which Canada will decide the 10 winning tour stops.

 

TSN.ca augments the live television coverage of FREE AGENT FRENZY with live streaming coverage that is also available to hockey fans on-the-go with TSN app for iPhone and iPod Touch. TSN.ca’s streaming coverage also features a live blog that allows fans to watch and interact with each other at the same time, a comprehensive list of all available free agents and a Free Agent Tracker that will follow all of the signings.
