NBA Stars Align on TSN and TSN2 with NBA All-Star Weekend, Feb 12-14

– NBA ALL-STAR GAME airs live Sunday on TSN at 8 p.m. ET– 

Toronto, ON (February 11, 2010) – The stars will align this weekend when the NBA’s hottest players arrive in Dallas for NBA All-Star Weekend, and TSN and TSN2 are on location in the Lone Star State, providing hoops fans with live Canadian coverage of the entire star-studded weekend.  The 2010 NBA All-Star Game takes center stage on TSN on Sunday, Feb. 14 at 8 p.m. ET from Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, with an anticipated crowd of over 85,000 fans, the largest audience ever to watch a live NBA game. 

Coverage of NBA All-Star Weekend on TSN and TSN2 is available in High Definition.  SPORTSCENTRE’s Sheri Forde is on site in Dallas, filing daily reports beginning on Friday.

Friday, Feb. 12

  • NBA ALL-STAR CELEBRITY GAME – 7 p.m. ET, TSN2

Celebrities from television, movies and sports team up with NBA legends, and the world famous Harlem Globetrotters to participate in the 2010 NBA All-Star Celebrity Game. Former NBA stars Robert Horry and Rick Fox join Dr. Oz, actor/comedian Chris Tucker, PGA Golfer Anthony Kim  and other television, music and sports personalities in the game.  Coaching the star-studded teams are basketball Hall of Famers Magic Johnson and Alonzo Mourning 

  • NBA ALL-STAR ROOKIE CHALLENGE & YOUTH JAM – 9 p.m. ET, TSN2

Will this be the year the Rookies break through in the Rookie Challenge? The Sophomores have won seven in a row over the first-year players, but the rookies may have the firepower with a talented crop of young guards.  

The Raptors’ DeMar DeRozan and the Clippers’ Eric Gordon will have a dunk-in at halftime of the Rookie Challenge with the winner advancing to Saturday’s Slam Dunk competition.

 

Saturday, Feb. 13

  • NBA ALL-STAR SATURDAY NIGHT – 8 p.m. ET, TSN2

From the high-flying Nate Robinson and Gerald Wallace to the sweet-shooting  Daequan Cook and Chauncey Billups, the NBA’s hottest players put their incredible skills on display in four highly-anticipated events during ALL-STAR SATURDAY NIGHT: Shooting Stars, Skills Challenge, Three-Point Shootout and fan favourite Slam Dunk Competition. 

 

Sunday, Feb. 14

  • 2010 NBA ALL-STAR GAME – 8 p.m. ET, TSN

The NBA’s biggest and brightest stars go head-to-head in the NBA ALL-STAR GAME, featuring stars LeBron James (Cleveland), Steve Nash (Phoenix) Dwight Howard (Orlando), Chris Bosh (Toronto) and reigning NBA MVP Kobe Bryant (Lakers). Play-by-play announcer Marv Albert and analysts Doug Collins and Reggie Miller are courtside with Craig Sager and David Aldridge reporting from the sidelines.
