Asia’s biggest sports content provider lights up the festive season with glorious moments from Olympic history 

10 December, 2009: Celebrate the festive season with ESPN STAR Sports, as Asia’s biggest sports content provider looks to showcase a bagful of classic Olympic Games moments with its line-up of top class programming from the archives of the Olympic Films. New Image1

ESPN STAR Sports will showcase timeless stories of inspiration from over 30,000 hours of archives with official footages from 12 Winter and Summer Olympic Games spanning over the last two decades. Sports fans can get into the festive mood with ‘Stories of Olympic Glory’ from the Salt Lake City Winter Olympics 2002 on Christmas Eve, followed by the Torino 2006 Winter Games and the Sydney 2000 Summer Olympics on the big day of celebrations.

Scheduled primarily on Thursdays to Sundays every week, viewers can catch glittering moments from the iconic multi-sport competition, such as America’s Michael Johnson’s double gold in the 200m and 400m sprints at Barcelona 1992, as well as one of the most illustrious collections of talent assembled in the history of international basketball in the “Dream Team”.

Sports fans can also relive Carl Lewis record-setting moment when he secured his ninth title in the long jump in Atlanta 1996, catch Steffi Graf’s ‘Golden Slam’ glory in Seoul 1998 when she added an Olympic gold to her calendar Grand Slam as well as witness the beginning of Michael Phelps’ dominance when he swept six gold medals at the 2004 Athens Summer Games.
